The Aquavital Limescale Magnet generates alternating magnetic fields around the water pipe using 10 permanent magnets (1.2 Tesla each). During operation, magnetic particles in the water – particularly iron particles – can be attracted by the magnetic fields.
Over time, these particles can build up to form a so-called Faraday cage that shields the magnetic field and impairs effectiveness.
By removing the device for 24 hours, the magnetic particles detach from the pipe and are flushed away by the water. Afterwards, the device operates at full capacity again.
Open the latch, remove the device from the pipe. Takes 30 seconds. No tools required.
Leave the device detached for 24 hours. During this time, the flowing water flushes the magnetic particles from the pipe.
Clamp the device back onto the pipe – mind the direction arrow. Done for the next 6 months.
Set a bi-annual reminder in your calendar – e.g. on 1 January and 1 July each year. That way you'll never forget the maintenance.

What happens if I forget the maintenance?
The device gradually loses effectiveness as magnetic particles accumulate. However, nothing breaks – after removing and reattaching, it works as normal straight away.
Can I leave the device off for longer than 24 hours?
Yes, no problem. 24 hours is the minimum for the particles to fully detach. Leaving it off longer does no harm.
Do I need to remove both devices at the same time?
Not necessarily, but it is practical. You can also service the devices one after the other – this way at least one device is always active.
Does the device itself need cleaning?
No. The device has no contact with the water (it is mounted on the outside of the pipe). There is nothing to clean.
How long does the device last?
